There is a reason we have a case of Milwaukee's Best Ice on top of the basement fridge. Lo! It is the slug beer and it has taken sluglings. Lo! It is the slug beer and it has taken grown slugs. Lo! It is the slug beer and it has taken four-inch slug monarchs.
If you pitch enough fat grubs into the same spot, robins will watch that spot for a free lunch.

the robins want the strawberries, too, though.
for a day or two there was a toad in the strawberry patch. i wish it would come back. . .
Figure out a way to get the robins to eat the drowned slugs instead of the berries and you've got a win.
Bird netting should do the trick for robins.
